Memories of Spring
Half-completed before my summer hiatus, this rose piece still carries the color and intent of the earlier season. It lasted well!
And now comes my joke that I, too, am well-preserved. Today’s my 59th birthday. May your flower petals look ever fresh. Cheers!
Breaking the Encaustic Inertia
My encaustic studio is still pretty warm, but I can feel the pull to start up again. Slowly, lol. This is the corner of my display wall with the pieces I like best. As I move into the next art season I want to use these as a reminder and inspiration.
Also, we’re replacing the flooring in our house. The peace I need to evaluate an episode eluded me this week, so . . . here are some pretty pictures as a placeholder.
Wall of Grimm, 2022
The second annual collective! It’s fun to see that I’ve made progress since last year.
This means that the studio has become too warm for wax to set, and I’m on my summer hiatus. Look for more encaustic in the fall.
The Queen Bee
Veiled
Which do you prefer, white veil or blue veil? It’s my first time working three-dimensionally with cheesecloth. Lol, I might hate it. Also, if I must choose, I think the white is better. Of course, it’s too late for that and the veil is forever blue now. Hahaha!

Lent 2022: the first Seven Stations
I consider these now complete, except for the Fourth Station. That rose will continue to change over time. I’ll revisit the piece next Lent and we’ll see how it faded.
